Hello Spyder Owners, and mechanics,
My SpyderQueen will get me to point A but delays and leaves me stranded at Point B. The key turns over, she has a new battery and sometimes I push the starter button it starts and sometimes it won't. I had to leave it at a restaurant and went back hours later and it started right up. I had extra undercarriage lights added and we installed a new battery. Push button switch with an inline fuse holder. I'm thinking it's the starter switch, but I'm no mechanic. I'm just trying to narrow down the possibilities.
Your expert advice is appreciated.

Spyder Queen,
My 2012 RTS also has intermittent starting problem. So far only for a few minutes, but extremely problematic if one is in a Flagline presentation in front of 3,000 people.
You indicated that your problem has been fixed. What was done to fix it?

A Post Script here: This is the first time I've accessed this forum, and I'm unfamiliar with the process.

I have an update:

MS SpyderQueen is back on the Road. After taking her to the Shop where I purchased her 13 years ago, she runs like the Queen She is. I could not find a "trustworthy" shop within 100 miles, to work on any bike over 3 years old. I had to wait 3 weeks to deliver my baby @ Ride Now Powersports in Georgetown, Texas. SpyderQueen was with them from 4 May, - 8 June 2023. Logistics in the US is insane, we can't get everything through Amazon Prime. The shop had to do the process of elimination - After trying the starter relay and the results were the same, the diagnosis was indeed the starter motor. The repair was costly, but I must consider she is 13 yrs old, and other than PMCS on SpyderQueen, I never had a problem with it. I had to go out of town on Fri-Sun. I rode a lil on Monday and have been riding daily ever since. Once I got on the I-35 I was quickly reminded that I had more protection with 4 wheels, but I'm not going to change my Queen for nothing at this point.

Just want to say , "Thanks to all who offered their experience, diagnoses, and referrals. I did look up the switch before I brought it to the shop, and the price was near what I was charged, and the labor was equal to the price. That repair was lil under $800.00.

I have a Starter relay if someone needs to buy one. 2010 Can-AM RT. I'll let it go for $50.00 I'll ship it to you in the US.

Thanks to all, Safe Ride Ms SpyderQueen

Can this be edited so that it is easier to understand, please ?
What part do you need to be edited? The initial problem or the process/time/location of the repair? Bottom line she is back on the road. I'm not a bike mechanic, but I was right it was the Starter Switch.
Thank you for your concern.

Here is a link to an OEM parts supplier. The right hand handlebar switch is available for the later producrion date.
At it’s price I would recommend being sure yours is defective. Maybe just needs cleaning. Would spray with electrical cleaner first. Then check it according to the procedure outlined in the service manual.
If you do need one. Have seen some available used on EBay.

What exactly does happen when it "won't start" ?

Do the dash lights come on like usual ?
Does the starter run and the engine turns over but never fires.......
OR does nothing happen when you push the start button ??

Then.....if you are a fairly new rider, are you SURE that you are doing all the steps required to start a Spyder ?
Ignition ON, push the Mode button once, foot firmly on brake the push START ??

Then there is the kill switch.
