After ordering the UGREEN adapter and attaching it to the rear trunk USB port, I now have CarPlay working just fine. You will have to go into Preferences, and Bluetooth to link it to the Spyder.
CarPlay works, but it has a few quirks.
Quirky - Using a route you created in Google Maps, just make sure you enable "Start" before moving your Spyder. Also, if you create a few waypoints, you may need to touch your iphone screen to be able to "continue" after reaching, or passing one of your waypoints.
So, in other words, you may need to still touch your iphone since the Spyder display is disabled while you are moving.
