I have Geico and pay about $650 per year. I had heard that there's a company called American Recreational which offers really low rates
You might want to check out Foremost Insurance. Good rates and Great service!

As I'm looking to purchase the RT-S in 2010 I just inquired the cost of annual insurance with Foremost and was quoted $683. Hope this helps!
Try Dairyland. For insurance on my wife's and my Spyder is around $400.00 each per year for full coverage. The first year we had our Spyders it was $1400.00 a year with, let's just say the company spends a lot of money onTV adds.

thats who i use 55.00 a month
The Spyder won't arrive until next week, so I haven't checked. I use Dairyland for all my other bikes and will start there. From the above post it looks like they will have a fair rate. I've used them for over 20 years and they have always had good rates. Having a clean driving record doesn't hurt, and the age thing has moved in my favor too.

GEICO insures my Spyder $26.00 a month...Cant believe your $2200 ?? Try em again. Some people dont know what a Spyder is and give a wild quote. :D
I got full coverage on mine for under $550 per year with my multi bike discount. Either you are not telling us the whole story or you need to have a couple more bikes. I pay less than half of that amount per year for 4 bikes.
I've been really happy with Progressive Cycle Insurance. They were an amazing 75% cheaper than what I was paying State Farm. Rates seems to be highly dependent on where you live though.
Make sure the insurance company is putting the Spyder down as a TOURING BIKE not as a racing bike!!!!! Good luck
Best Insurance

I have State Farm on my home and two cars. I have a policy with what they call "stacking" provisions. Consequently, when I checked to see what the insurance would be on an RTS, I was quoted $600.00 per year.
