Hi: We just bought a new 2009 Phantom and we have been reading the forum regarding the starting issues. We are having the same issues as well. My husband called the dealer and as usual, when they walked him through the procedure it worked first time, but then we took it out for a ride and stopped for gas and it took about 6-7 tries and it finally started. Our machine keeps scrolling the message even after hitting the M button and we have to keep waiting for it to finish and we try again. If anyone finds a solution please let us know, we were going to call the dealer and see if we could bypass but in reading the forum we just found out this is not an option.

thanks

Agreed, I first used the one on the dash and found it confusing me one day when the spyder would not start. The one on the left grip I find to be more convenient and always functions properly. I never use the one in the middle anymore!

Left grip one for sure...... I still personally feel this is safety (or legal liability?) overkill...
