Based on what I've heard so far, I would venture that in 2009 BRP will make Spyders available in the remaining continental US. I had high hopes for Arkansas this year... we are now nearly fully surrounded (MO to the north, TN to the east, TX to the south) but still Spyderless (at least dealer wise) like you
I made the decision early on to wait until I could get one locally, which has turned out to be a goof. I guess Arkansas is a cycle destination, not a place that a lot of cycles are sold... since the roll out was partially based on the number of cycle registrations per state. I may not be able to wait much longer, at a minimum, I may place a local order with the understanding I'll still be waiting 'till 2009 until the dealer can officially enter the order with BRP. Or I may just break down and go out of state. Our local dealer happens to be the highest volume Can-Am 4-wheeler dealer in the entire sales zone, to bad 4-wheeler sales where not part of the Spyder roll out equation
A side note, we are setting up the MidSouth Spyder Ryder Club for AR, LA, and MS (and maybe MO), so when you get yours, be sure to look us up. We'll be setting up a simple club site at canamspyderclub.org soon.
Thanks Spyderman. I went to my local dealer here in Hattiesburg, MS and they were basically clueless about when they would be getting one. I wouldn't mind buying one out of state, but was wondering if my local dealer for Can-Am could service it since they are not even selling the Spyders. We are about to head out to Birmingham, AL to go take a test ride on one. We are rather excited. Thanks again for the info!
I found out today that my local AR dealer looks like he will be able to order in August. He felt he would get his in 4-6 wks from the order placement, that seams a bit optimistic to me, but I'm still tickled he'll be able to order one soon!
