I have a question, hoping for a response.......while ryding now in very cold temps here in Ontario....my Spyder runs at only 2 bars on the temp gauge. Yes, when ryding it is only 8'C outside......but my little brain says that no matter what temp, the thermostat in the radiator system should stay closed until engine temp is reached, then begin to cycle, to maintain proper engine temerature..........no matter how cold it is.
Is there anyone else out there ryding in cold temps that can offer advise or observations of their Spyder's temperature readings? floto612

Too Hot it Seems

I only have 110 miles on my SE5 here in Southern California, where it has been in the 80s with wind and lots of fires, and my Spyder runs at 4 bars on normal runs, but in stop anad go traffic, it goes to 5 and 6 bars. I think there are only 7 bars-----it worries me a bit. When I'm on the freeway at 60mph, it stay of 4 bars, so it seems that the fuel pump and fan are working. I wonder if it's because its new?? So far it has never exceeded 6 bars when I'm sitting in traffic. Any ad vice/thoughts?----Thanks----Ev

i wouldnt worry about anything. im a spyder tech at a dealer in covina, ca and have ridden many, they all run around 4 bars while moving and up to 6 bars while in stop and go traffic. i wouldn't worry if the fan is working and you have not gone into limp mode.
