I'm planning to buy a RS auto in black this summer. Stopped by a dealer today thinking I would pick out what I wanted and they could order it when I was ready.

They told me they get a quarterly allotment and don't order specific bikes, but they would work to find what I want when I'm ready.

Is this common? Just a sales tactic to sell me something in stock?

Thanks,
Steve

not that I have heard

I was told by mine that they only got a certain amount of bikes at a time

But I "think" you should be able to order one, but it may take longer though

Welcome, Steve!!

There are 2 more dealerships in Oklahoma that I know of - one in Jones, and the other in Shawnee. Might want to call those two and find out what they've got in stock, may be they have what you want.

Thanks all for the quick replies. I've only ever bought used, so I wasn't sure if this was normal.

Sounds like it's no big deal to get a unit from another dealer or for me to just buy from an out of town dealer.

Just seems odd that someone can't order a unit from the factory (via a certified dealer) and wait for it. Go figure...

Thanks again!

I don't know about every dealer but the dealer here in Boise was trading three RT's (outgoing) for 4 Rs's (incoming) to another dealer when I was there the other day.
