Hey Guys,
As a long time rider 25 years or so from dirt bikes up I ended up in a crash a year ago. Last June I left my pregnet wife and went on a 4 day trip with my buddies on my Hayabusa. I got 5 miles from home and was passing a gravel truck with no signal or brake lights. so when I went to go pass him and he turned, I did a endo and him head first breaking 5 vertibra and sternum ribs on and on. I ended up paralyzed from the armpits down.

I haven't bought one yet(as everyone says) but I AM riding again and the Hardly isn't a option sice I'm a sports bike guy. I see there are a few paralyzed riders out there, I know you have to move the rear brake up to my hands and I even seen there is a company that makes a holder for my wheelchair. Very cool.

I just wanted to say hi and to say I'm hanging out here now not the Busa site :p

Hey Duane....welcome back to wind! Your a rugged fellow to come through something like that and pop out on the other side with a positive attitude. I can never imagine going through that, so have great admiration for you, even if I don't know you!

WOW, Duane, you are my hero, I used to be an orthopedic nurse, and I`ve seen people sink in despair for little things, like when I had to put a cast on a person and they took it like it was the end of the world for them, but you bounced back and are ready to go and do what you love and face world. We need more people like you. I really admire you my friend. Post a picture of you and your bike. I wish you the best. Latter. Louie.

Duane,

Glad you are doing well! The Sequential Electric is the perfect ride for you, and now that quality easily mountable hand brake retrofits are available it is even better. Not sure if we'll be able to deliver 'Busa performance just yet, but there are some great power boosters already out since the basic engine has been in Aprilia's for years.

Congrats, Duane, on coming through it on the positive side. I had a life altering accident last year (got run over by a semi) so I understand a good deal of what you are/have been going through. I think that a positive mindset and a good sense of humor (ya just gotta laugh at it sometimes... that macabre sense of humor!) will get you through... oh, and lots of love and support from your family and friends.

Look forward to hearing more from you!

Cheers,
Tyler
