Just got a 2011 Can Am RT-S SE5. Love the bike even though it's in the shop now with transmission problems. Swore that I would never get 3 wheels but after an accident on my Harley Heritage and being 76, I had a talk with Jesus moment and decided it was time. I'm in Chesterfield SC and we ride year round so I am happy to be a part of the forum.

The good news is that we love new members.

The bad news is that many dealers won't touch Spyders over 10 years old and BRP doesn't
usually have parts either.

I hope you didn't buy it KNOWING that it had a problem.
This could have a sad ending.

Welcome to the forum from North Carolina. Glad you decided to join us.

Congratulations on your new ride.

Because I live in the southern part of North Carolina close to the South Carolina border, I tend to head south when I ride. Have been to Chesterfield lots of times. Pretty nice quiet town. From the looks of the storefronts, it seems some are private residenences.

Hope your transmission issue gets squared away.

I bought the bike from Sports Cycle (Honda Dealer) in Rockingham NC. He told me he would look after me on the
repair costs since I bought the Can Am in good faith. The bike is now in Rideon (Can Am dealer) in Concord NC.
They were glad to work on it but haven't got the final news on the problem or cost. After riding Harleys for years I was shocked at the attitude of most Can Am dealers. Everything being said I think I am going to really enjoy this RT if I get it back on the road.
Reputable Can-am dealers are hard to find. The manufacturer is just as bad. They all bellow how customer satisfaction is paramount but in the end they fall way short. I guess with big corporations having so many customers, their attitude and desire to satisfy is poor.

The best defense against this poor and sometimes nonexistent service is to perform your own repairs and maintenance.

Just got estimate for repair on my transmission $2388,69. Appears to be clutch problems. Good news is that the Honda (motorcycle) dealer that I bought it from has agreed to pay bill in full. No hassle at all he agreed to it up front. There are good dealers and good guys still in this world. Life is good.

Please let us know how long the repair takes to complete.
Great news. Nice to see a dealer standing behind a sale and satisfying a customer.

I talked to Service Manager yesterday 5/24 said they might have it fixed by end of next week but probably the next week. So the waiting begins.
That sounds awesome.

Welcome aboard.
