I will be ordering my Spyder next month from Ridersville Cycles in Berkeley Springs, WV. I'm getting the SE5 Roadster with the following options:
  • Phantom Black Body kit
  • 6 spoke custom wheels
  • Custom grips
  • Side Panel Trim kit
  • Muffler deflectors
  • Riser block for handlebars
  • 12 volt power outlet (for GPS)
  • Xenon lights
  • Fog lights
  • Ultra Touring Windshield (will wait until it's out)
  • Anti-vibe bar ends
  • Trunk liner

I am also going to add:
  • Saddlebags from Corbin
  • Micron mufflers from The Spyder's Nest
  • Adjustable Highway Footrest Kit from The Spyder's Nest
  • 2 inch mirror extensions from The Spyder's Nest
  • Garmin 60CSx GPS and Ram RAM-B-149Z-GA12U mount http://www.ram-mount.com/reviews/spyder_mount.htm

My first long trip will be in June with some friends from Ireland who are bringing their bikes over and we are taking 2 weeks to do the old Route 66 from Chicago to LA. I can't wait!!

Does anyone know of a good source for Spyder decals/graphics or am I better off going to a custom graphics shop? Also, who makes the best dual exhaust system?

Are you doing the Route 66 trip on the Mother Road Rally on 6/13? I've signed up for it with some friends too. I'll be taking my 2009 Spyder SE5 on the trip. We've been looking at the itinerary and we may venture off the planned trip to hit some hotspots my friends want to see. They want to see the Grand Canyon and do a trip to Vegas. Hope to see you on the Route. My SE5 is Red.

I bet they could make them in any color you like.... white web, brown/yellow Spyder?
I e-mailed the seller and they don't have colors...only black and silver. He recommended a flat black but i want to see one on a Spyder Phantom before I buy a set.

Bummer

I guess he must not be the one that owns the sign shop that cut the graphic. Maybe he just designed them and had them made. All it takes to make a different color is to put in different color base material into the cutter and hit "Go" :)

You will find better windshields that screw right on at Cee Dailey"s aircraft plastics-side Can-Am. Custom Vinyl Decals n Stickers.Com has one of the best number of different vinyl spiders I could find on the web, good prices. Also do it your way but I found the foot boards are very nice because
you can move your feet around, no pressure point from peg, less vibrations.

Here is the link to Cee Baileys.com Cycle Products:http://www.ceebaileys.com/cycle/index.html and one directly to the Spyder windshields: http://www.ceebaileys.com/can_am/index.html

Four different sizes:

21” for riders up to 5’7"
23” for riders 5’8” to 5’10”
25” for riders 5’ 11 to 6’1”
27” for riders 6’2” and above extra tall.

Thanks, Spyderman!! I had never heard of this vendor before. Has anyone else purchased windshields from them? Would appreciate all inputs

Hi all,

I just got my Spyder about a week a ago and I have a question...

Would it be better to get the Spyder 4 inch Billet Riser Kit Manual Shift or just replace the Handlebars completely. With the 5" handle bars, and accessory kits? The reason I ask is that the 4 inch Billet Riser kit does not look stable or strong. So if I need to turn quickly in an emergency, it seems they would move or bend out of place. So I am undecided. Any comments or suggestions?

Thanks

Many like the Billet risers and I don't think there's a real performance or strength issue but I personally like the full retrofit package from Kewlmetal (www.kewlmetal.com). I have the 7" bars (4" rise) with their replacement console and the GPS and drink holder attachment on it's way from AZ. I think it's a cleaner solution but YMMV.

Very kool, Thanks for the suggestion. I like the cleaner look and I have changed from 5" to 7" Handle bars, with the replacement console and the GPS and drink holder attachments. since I am getting my Spyder repainted, to a non-standard color. I am going to hold off on adding the retrofit package until that is finished.

I've had a new SE5 for about 3 weeks and have had a lot of problems...not to scare you off, but in case you run into these things, you'll know what to do. When I took it in for its first service they found that the transmission filter had collapsed. I'd only had it for 2 weeks then. After it was serviced I noticed that the gears were messing up and finally it froze and I couldn't get it out of the gear it got stuck in. They had to come and get it and found that the solenoid was no good. BRP was contacted and they said that they will be sending out letters about this so that the ones that they have put in can be replaced! The new part is different apparently and also has to have new wiring for it. I also saw on their website that the power steering is having problems and they are still checking into that. There is a software download that your dealer will have for that. The parking brake keeps it from rolling forward, but it will roll backwards!! The breaks squeak! One thing though, BRP is backing up their product and all will be fixed. Good luck!!!
