I found this interesting. On two separate occasions now (seemingly unrelated or affected by a service visit) I have noticed the the "all-time top speed" that is shown on the (not trip A or B) gauge on my 2021 Spyder RT has lowered in value.

For example, let say (hypothetically) it once showed 112 mph. Many months later it show the all time max speed is 108.
Then, on another occasion a new "top" speed was achieved and it only stayed for a period of time and then I noticed it had "self-corrected" to a lower speed. Both times I noticed this was long after it had been serviced. It had simply changed later on to a lower value.

I have been told (by the 2 service visits) that the BUDS program has never needed (and therefore never received) an update.

I wonder why the bike does that. Just curious. Don't really care otherwise.

Because it isn't working right.
Which is pretty much meaningless in this case.
I had surmised as much. I was more interested in if anyone else had noticed that happening. Not working usually means no display or scrambled output. I have never seen a value that had been a constant for months decide to slowly change on two occasions. What would be more interesting would be if it slowly added to the speed so when you took it in for service it was reading 145 mph or something. That might get a comment from the mechanic. Some thing like . . . how are you getting that kind of speed out of this thing! :)

Not working RIGHT can mean all kinds of things.
Displays like that are really just "fluff" anyway and nobody really cares if it is 100% accurate or not.
It is kind of like obsessing about your clock gaining 3 minutes every 60 days.

Great point and certainly nothing worth worrying about. I just found it a bit odd and worthy of finding out if any once else had experienced similar behavior. Thank you for your comment.
