Does anyone know when the low fuel light is supposed to come on? Also, does it start flashing when the fuel is really low?

low fuel light

I know when my comes on. I typically pull in the gas station and fill up and it is usally takes around 4 gallons to top it off. I have never pushed it to see how far it will go until it's empty.

The low fuel light comes on when you get down to one bar on your fuel gage. It doesn't flash it is a steady yellow/orange colored light with the pic of fuel pump.

The low fuel light seems to come on really really early on my spyder. I think there is still about 2G left at that point. I usually pull in and get gas at that point, but I have driven more than 30 miles in a pinch after it came on and there was still gas left.
Mine seems to come on early as well. I wish I knew exactly how much was left when the light comes on, or that the gauge was more accurate. If you have two gallons left in like what.....a 5 gallon tank, that is not really low fuel.

The light come on kind of early for my liking as well. The Fuel Capacity is 6.6 Galllons. If you are usually putting in about 4 gallons......there would still be 2.6 gallons, enough for about 80 - 100 miles. (but what is the point passing gas stations when you only have 2 gallons in the tank) You might as well fill the tank and empty the bladder
Yeah, but if you are traveling, you might like to knock off another hour before refueling. Also for me, I am kind of picky as to what brand of gas I use, and if I am on my way home I would like to know I can make it to town and get gas close to home instead of stopping when I don't have to.
Low fuel light on early? Better safe than sorry as these things are too heavy for my old body to be pushing down the road too far! I too find typically about 2.5 gallons left in the tank when the light comes on. I pushed on about 30 miles one time after the light came on to find an open station (late Sunday night) and I felt like I riding on eggs just waiting for the engine to sputter. Bill
