I have a Spyder RT 2011. Actually it has a very low mileage 10,000 miles. Need to know if the heating gage is normal to go almost to (RIGHT BEFORE HOT SEGMENT) when I ride in the slow traffic area, when the outside temperature is about 75--80 degrees F. The fan kicks on / off normal bringing the temperature down a little. The coolant reservoir is normal and it is full. No leaks. Example: In my car, the temperature gage stays put. You can hardly see the gage moving. The valve opens and closes to keep the engine at the right temperature all the time. Like to know if you experience the same as far as the gage oscillating up and down.

Probably perfectly normal. Which is why most vehicles don't HAVE a temp gauge anymore.

If the coolant has never been changed......or you don't know.....now would be a good time to do that.

A new thermostat might make you feel better but probably won't change anything.
Cleaning out the radiator fins would be a good idea too.

stop press.

heads up.

Saw something where you pull off a lower hose rather than tutu with that drain tap.
Suggestion its easily damages or something and better left alone.

I would also flush it with a hose in the top for a while. Low pressure of course, just enough to get some flow going.
