Is there only ONE dealer in your area ?
This should be about a 10 minute job for someone who has done it before.
But maybe close to an hour for a "rookie".
I had them do both of mine when one burnt out.
Yes I think it is a "standard" bulb unless a previous owner screwed with them.
Yes, 1 dealer 90 miles away. I'm the rookie with 2 left/right hands (don't want 2 offend anyone) lately. Anyway, I was on ride headed to dealership and bike went into limp mode. Called dealer re: code. Scheduled appt for that, bulb, AND he said REPLACEMENT SPROCKET just came in. Turned my frown right side up!!!! 🙃Is there only ONE dealer in your area ?

I don't know if you're interested but I recently replaced both bulbs with the LED conversion kit and it definitely looks better. If you go to slingmods.com you will find them there and the install tutorials are awesome and easy to follow. I feel it was a good investment, now waiting to replace the fog lights also.I am needing to replace headlamp bulb. Will be several weeks b4 dealership can get RT in. Is there easy access or do I need to remove a lot of pieces. Also, is there a compatible bulb I can pick up at a parts store. Thxx
Thxx, I appreciate the info. Wish I had heard about the LED Conversion kit b4, however due to Replacement sprocket in stock, I'll have dealer do it as the will work me in next Wednesday. I appreciate ALL of the contributionsThe instructions for replacing your headlights are on pg. 158-161 of your operator's guide, and the bulb spec is on pg. 171, bulb No. HB3, available at any auto parts store. Bulbs from auto parts stores are in individual sealed packaging which prevents some snot-nosed kid in a dealership parts department from handling them with sweaty and/or greasy paws thereby significantly shortening bulb life. As Easy Rider said, take the time to replace both, because the other one will die shortly after you get the Spyder back together. Switching to LEDs is worth the additional cost, IMO. The only difficult step if you've never done it before is removing the mirrors. You can find the correct way demonstrated in the video at the link at about 11:30..
AND check your model to be sure how the high/low beam works. They had high and low beams.
FYI, when I had my 2012 RT, I was able to cross references bulb and located them at Walmart and O'Reilly. Soooo much less expensive!I had the same problem with my 2019 Spyder RT Limited, the dealer wait time was going to be 3 to 5 weeks. I found the bulbs on Ebay and a trunk light. The headlight was much less expensive than the dealer, and it only took me 3 days to get. They had high and low beams. Check where they are being shipped from, it takes at least a week and a half from China. I have had mine for over a year with no problems.
