My friend has a 2015 Canam Spyder rs se5 and needs to change the fuel injectors. What has to be taken off to get to them? Also what is the best way to de-pressurize the fuel system before disconnecting the injector? Any info. would be great!!!

It is extremely unusual to need new injectors on a vehicle of that age.......unless maybe it has a TON of miles on it.
What exactly makes him think this needs to be done ?

Has he tried some heavy duty injector cleaner first ?
Berrymans B12 Chemtool and Techron probably are the best.

The problem he is having is a leaky injector. We have tried injector cleaner quite a few times and it seemed to help for a while, but the problem kept coming back. He is getting gas in the oil to where the oil level keeps going up. You can smell the gas and engine damage can only result. One of the injectors is leaking down, so it would be best to change both. Cleaners work minimal at best. Help with the install is only thing needed.

Well a really good cleaner can do wonders.......like Berrymans. Nothing else holds a candle to it.
But it sounds like you already have your mind made up ........and I don't know about accessing and changing the injectors so I will bow out.
Good luck.

Thanks for all your replies, but out of all the forum no one knows how to get to the injectors?? It is not IF they need to be change, they NEED to be changed. It has a severely leaky injector and the oil gets completely saturated where we have changed oil 4 times already and tried numerous cleaners.

Synthetic Oil is expensive to change and engine damage will be the result if not corrected.

And as far as a component signaling the injector to operate inappropriately, that is not the case. Bike runs perfectly with no codes. Only way to get gas in the oil is when the bike is shut off and it leaks down the cylinder wall till the pressure drops.

My question was service procedure. Nothing more.

I think the reason no one knows the actual procedure off the top of their head is because injectors rarely are defective. This is why other members suggest exploring other diagnosis avenues. When you post on forums you have to expect multiple opinions. Use the ones you like and ignore the others.

Don’t see any fuel injector videos for a Can am Spyder. Seems the service manual is the only convenient source. Since this is not a common repair, please post back with your results. The more information the forum has, the better it’s members can make accurate decisions.

Note that DURING your testing of a condition like this, there is NO REASON to be putting synthetic oil into the machine when you pretty much KNOW that it will need to be changed again almost immediately.

Nobody has the answer you need because none of the members here has done that.

Have you searched YouTube for instructions ?

Sorry we can't be of any help.
Time for plan B.

After removing bodywork and air intake parts to access the air cleaner, keep going with removing the dual intake ducts and resonator. The injectors are mounted on both sides of the throttle body 2015 Can-Am SPYDER RS SE5 Throttle Body | BRP Parts: Can-Am, Sea-Doo, and Ski-Doo. Compared to my 1330cc, looks easy peasy.

Depressurize? With your leakage just leave the ignition off for a day.
I've seen these diagrams before and they do not show any procedures for disassembly. I can take it from here. It is not rocket science. Seems like no one on here has done any real mechanical repairs. I have been a mechanic for over 46 years and thought there would be people with the same savy! Guess I was wrong. Good luck on your forums. Looks like you will need it! Don't give any more advice since it isn't what professionals need!!!

A real "professional" wouldn't be looking for advice in a place like this in the first place.
AND wouldn't be insulting those who are trying to help either.

Looks like we might have another "mechanic" here who has been doing oil changes and tires for 45 years and somehow thinks that qualifies him to claim the title.
Some of the questions you ask certainly indicate that you are not actually a QUALIFIED mechanic.

Well Mechanic828, must be a new record. You have been here for only three days and have managed to insult everyone on this forum.
You don’t know anyone here. You have no knowledge as to the extent of their mechanical experience or ability. To insult and question members who freely give their time and knowledge to help someone they don’t even know is disrespectful.
I am retired new car dealer and an ASE master technician. But because I don’t own your model or have not performed that specific repair, I haven’t done any REAL mechanical repairs? Yeah right!!!
If you don’t like the responses to your inquiry, go elsewhere. Am sure you will not be missed here.

Looks like there are a lot of cry babies on this site!

I was asking for a specific procedure and that is not what everyone was giving.

If you do not have the info. that was asked, do not reply.

End of story. Any more cry baby replies will be ignored since the task was finished already without any help from unprofessional types on here!!!
