Hello everyone.
I have a 2010 spyder rs s.
I have difficulty to register it in Cali cause they requires the FMVSS ( the safety standards).
I called BRP but they cannot find my vin number. so they cannot provide me with it/
is there anyone here who can help me with this document please?
It is so frustrating I cant use the moto.

Please any help is highly appreciated.

Take a few pictures of what you think the VIN is and the overall vehicle.
Then visit a Spyder dealer or two and see if they can help you.
The VIN might not be where you think it is.

D9es the FMVSS come in a letter-declaration form?
Or.is it a sticker?
No luck with the dealership.
My Vin number is not in the system and they say it could be sone pre-production unit.
I have this beauty here with 10k miles only in perfect condition that i can't use and i might need to part out

What state is it TITLED in ?
Do you have a title ??

You need to go BACK to the DMV and see if there isn't some kind of appeal process or a higher authority that you can contact. Maybe you could have it classified as a "home built" custom vehicle.

OR......maybe it is stolen and VIN has been altered.
What does the previous owner say about all of this ??

Edit: So I now see that this came from Italy and you first posted about this SIX YEARS AGO.
Where has the bike been all of that time ?
Maybe it IS time to just give up and junk it.

I bought new in italy imported.in 2010
Then moved to US. In 2015.
Brought thorugh a container.
Register at DMV after check of CHP.
Received registration and cali plate.
in 2018 i reveived a letter basically saying they were wrong and that the spyder couldn't have the plate cause was missing 2 things.
1. In the importing document was missing VIN number. (Easy fix)
2. A document saying this vehicle meet the FMVSS standard.

I miss this.
I wonder how does this document look like.
Would it be a 'general doc where they certify this vehicle meets the standard? Have you ever tried to request one to brb by any chance?
