Geico already had the Spyder in in their on line selection box.
Took 10 minutes TOTAL and I printed out my ID card.

Outstanding.

Geico.com

GREAT TIP!!!:D
Wow what a difference!
Price for coverage ranged between $ 147. and $ 397. (per year) Depending on how much coverage I wanted.
I guess once I get my motorcycle license I'll get the insurance
They quoted me $1400. The collision was $985.00
Geico

I tried to bundle my auto insurance with my cycle insurance and Geico is one of the few that offers both.

While the auto insurance was okay, the insurance for the bike was $2200.

I don't get it. These bikes are not worth that much and how much liability could you incur with one of these things? I finally cut out my collision insurance with Allstate and am paying about $500 per year for the minimum liability. What a rip off.

Sounds like BRP may think about doing a bit of lobbying with the insurance industry in CA....... with all the safety features (and three wheels) the Spyder should be a lower risk than any two wheel cycle.

I read somewhere in CA the Spyder is a "car", is that true? If so maybe the insurance companies are saying to themselves, "Hey, if CA is going to call this a "car", we'll look at it as a car with a very exposed driver."

I've priced insurance in AR, not to bad, but surprisingly it was still more than my brand new 2007 HHR which is $530/yr.

Hopefully all Spyders owners will drive safely, and rates will drop ;)
