Hello there,

Ive never really owned a bike, ive driven them when i was younger (light weights) and got my bike license last september...

A co-worker is selling his yellow 08 spyder, roughly 4500 miles on it its not automatic.. and he suggested that if i wanted a decent riding experience i would probably not like the automatic as it automatically downshifts.. and there is no override.. i.e. you cannot turn of auto mode.

not sure what the rules on pricing are.. but its an 08, he bought in 09 (mid) for roughly 15k, asking for 10.5k for it...

What should i look for? i know how to buy and sell cars :) but not bikes... i will obviously look at the body, but its not like i can ask him if he's dropped it a lot...

Any help would be appreciated!. i wish there was a KBB for can-am spyder.

Price seems to be dependent on location. With same mileage. I've seen a several thousand dollar spread depending on location. When looking on ebay, there is a feature you can use to see only sold items, a nice way to see what things are going for.

Not sure what the fellow means on the automatic, you can upshift or downshift when you like by using the + or - on the paddle, OR you can let it do the work like a "normal" automatic. It will shift faster then you can!

Im in california, orange county.

ill check out ebay and see what it says :)

what he meant was.. for example., when turning, it will downshift for you automatically if ur slow enough, and when you want to speed up and get out of the turn, it will jump as its going in gear.. or there might be a lag..

now logically.. u would want it to down shift.. giving you more power when you get out of the turn., but maybe he enters his turns fast and is a heavy break user? not sure.. or maybe he is lazy? :)

its either this or a 2010 dodge charger SRT8....

I thought Charger SRT-8's were over 30K? I have driven all the SRT products, fun for sure.... 24K for the RTS.....
