BRP RECALLS

Just bought my 2017 Spyder RT last June and if I had only known.... I only put approximately 40 miles on this bike after purchase and my odometer reads 22047 mi. My question is why BRP is not replacing the engine output shaft regardless of the odometer reading. What assurance can they give owners that this part will not fail above 21,748 miles, putting someone at risk for serious injury or even death? What is the data or information that supports this decision? If I had only known the apparent reputation or lack thereof re: BRP and customer service, I would not have bought a Can-Am. By the way, NHTSA was no help when I spoke to them about the recall and why the limited parameters. So, apparently, those who own this bike with mileage that BRP indicates does not meet the parameter for their replacing this part will either have to pay for the repair themselves at a cost of $1350 (labor/part) or the take the chance that they will not experience a failure of this part while riding. Not a fair situation to put their customers in.....
