Hello all,
We are giving the spyder a good look for my wife. She isn't as strong as she once was and a third wheel looks like the ticket. My question is about the auto trans. Her hand strenght isn't what it once was so the paddle shifting looks great.

I read there seems to be a lot of trouble with bugs in the auto shift system now. What are the dealers saying about this? Is progress being made with the transmissions?

If we go with a manual shift, how strong is the clutch pull? Anyone installed an easy pull clutch system on it?

While there may be a few of the SE5 owners out there having some trouble, the vast majority are just having fun. We're having twice as much fun because we just brought home an RS to go with the RT. Both are automatics. I just put a crampbuster on the RS, and the ryde is even more fun. No cramped hand on the throttle.

I'm with Cat, yes there have been a few problems, but most are working great and overall dependable. They are fun and easy to use. With the advances in clutch technology, you'll see more and more cycles with this system in the future..... and in cars too.

I have the Auto as my wife is the primary rider on the spyder, I think it works fine, on hard breaking I occasionaly slow down faster than the spyder can downshift, so the engine stalls, push the start button and I am on my way agian no problem no delay. Having riden bikes for decades, I do miss the handbreak and will be adding one to my spyder, I hope you enjoy you Spyder as much As I have mine.
