One day this spring when I was wandering the web for Spyder information, I came across a u-tube video of a news piece on San Diego TV about the fellows three wheeler. It said it would be available for sale later this year at the $55K number you mention. Looks like he made it, but a day late and a dollar short as the Spyder is a complete package, this is not. I basically looks like the three wheeler Harley patented, except it does not lean. BRP went to a TON of effort to overcome the potential safety issues of a three wheeler, this one does not address those issues, which could end up a big problem for them in the end.
I am curious what you think of the "look" of this three wheeler. It would be relatively straight forward to make a kit for the Spyder with this "look".... heck, it is close to it out of the crate, before the front storage is added
looks dangerous NO ABS,no traction control looks like single rider..you can see what would happen in a panic stop..not enough lights .etc looks cool but -not ..would buy T-REX
for that kind of money.spyder 2 yr warranty blah, blah, etc,,,,,,
I am in San Diego, I have seen it... it is outstanding..
This trike handles amazing. You should have seen this guy ride it. No traction control but it drifts and powerslides with seemingly high precision. Notice how high the front suspension is. The super low center of gravity and the geometry make this thing a gas to watch.
Personally, I would never ride it. Too much for me.
Find a video if you can ans watch this thing.
It is amazing.
