The position of the brake pedal caused severe leg pain from having to pigeon toe to apply it. Larger pad is way more comfortable because it sticks out further allowing a straight foot to apply. You still have to use it much like a car brake.

I have same problem, have to left my foot completeLu off floor board to Apple the break, it makes for uneven breaking. For me anyway
