I have a 2022 Spyder RT that when applying the brake I have to lift my foot off of the foot pad. Uncomfortable and unsafe. Any way I can move the pad down so I can apply the bake with my heel still in contact with the pad?

Welcome to the forum from North Carolina. Glad you decided to join us.

Don’t know of any item that will lower the brake pedal. Only see a spacer that raises the pedal.

Lamonster has a kit that raises the floorboards that makes the brake pedal lower in relation to the boards.

Do you have the same problem or is it only my goofy right foot?

They make 5 rods of different lengths for my bike and I tried all 5 with no luck. You gotta think this is a common problem.
I think it is NOT.
Almost never hear about it in any of the forums.

I have no trouble......and am not even aware of whether my heel comes up to apply the brake or not.
I think it does not. And I have a small foot.

Note: Be careful when changing the brake pedal travel.
If you put the pedal down too low, you might not be able to apply it fully.

I've run into that using the different length rods available. Another problem is the width of the connector ends. I found a perfect length rod but the ends were too narrow so it would'nt fit. I need to get the full dimensions before I buy. Thanks again for your help.

How about removing your brake rod, cutting a small section out of it, threading the ends, and use a coupling nut with jam nuts to make it adjustable?
I thought of that and just decided to put up with the problem the way it is. I will probably buy that extension bar from Sling Mods
. Thanks for your help and suggestions. Steve

So, I never quite understood this issue. Not being disrespectful. By way of explanation, the last two bike in my garage before giving up two wheels were '08 Victory Vegas and '86 Goldwing. The GW brake pedal was adjustable but the Vic wasn't and people complained. My thought was...how do those people drive their cars? I've been driving and riding for 50+ years and never had a car where I just pivot my heel to the brake. Again, not trying to be obstinate, just don't get it.

I think it's what you get use to my first Harley I was sure it was going to cause me a problem but after awhile I didn't even notice it fast forward to my spyder same thing now I don't notice anything wrong and get on the brakes faster than not the more time in the saddle the more in tune you will become with the bike

Bingo.
Not meaning to demean anybody with this comment but.............
It seems that in this day and age, everybody thinks that people and things should conform to EXACTLY what they want or think they need and they are not willing to compromise or learn to live with it.
Sometimes those people live their whole life being disappointed and bitter.

And then sometimes I read WAY more into a simple question than is really there !!

Wow Easy, getting a little philosophical this morning.😀

Agree that sometimes people just have to accept things the way they are. If they hold onto doubt and negativity and are not flexible, it will prevent them from being happy.

I found a adjustable brake rod that will solve the problem. Thanks for your reply.

The position of the brake pedal caused severe leg pain from having to pigeon toe to apply it. Larger pad is way more comfortable because it sticks out further allowing a straight foot to apply. You still have to use it much like a car brake.
