New to the forum and have a question

Hello everyone! Just joined the forum and wanted to say "Hi" and ask a question. First off, I'm in my early 50's and am planning to purchase a Spyder in the Spring. What I would like to know is; is there a year or model that I should avoid? I don't want to tick anyone off, but it has been my experience in the past with cars and atv's, that some models are to be avoided. Most of my snowmobile buys have been good with only a few regrets. I am leaning towards a 2015 F3 S. I like the style and overall look. Any help will be appreciated. I simply want to avoid a costly lemon and enjoy a trouble free ride. Thanks!

In general, 2013 and earlier with the smaller twin engine will require more maintenance.....and use a bit of oil.
2018 and later have a new "electronic" dashboard that some people HATE.....including me.

I didn't think I would like the automatic transmission .......but I really like it now.

Do some test rides. Try NOT to make you decision on the "look" and concentrate on the ride and feel.

Where are you located ?
Have you ridden a 2 wheel bike before much ??

Sorry for response delay. Having trouble navigating site on my phone. I'm in central Illinois. Haven't ridden a bike for a long time. Had an F150 try to make a hood ornament out of me about 30 yrs ago. My brother just got one and I took it for a spin. Kinda like ridin my sled, only no snow. His is a 2019. Can't go that new.

That might be a good thing.
Most owners think that 2014 and newer (thru 2017) is important for the improved engine.
And I agree.

I lived in/around Champaign-Urbana for most of my life.
