We are joining the Spyder world !!

Well ... my wife and I are about to join the world of the Spyder! I have made a deal and will be going next weekend to pick up a 2014 Spyder RT-S SE6. Sadly, health reasons are preventing the owner from riding any longer. It's only got about 4000 miles and looks pristine in the photos. I'm anxious to go see it and ride it home. My wife is beyond excited.

The Spyder is for my wife to ride. I have my 2018 Goldwing and I ain't gonna give that up!! My wife wants to ride along with me on some hopefully epic trips we have planned over the next few years.

I look forward to learning from this community.

Welcome. I still ride my motorcycle and recently acquired a 2014 ST Limited for comfort on rides longer than a couple of days. Iím short and the bigger tour bikes without major mods just are an ill fit. After you get over the different feel when cornering the spyder is a blast to ride. Your wife will love it. Congratulations !!

I hope you have a servicing dealer fairly close by.

Given the age and mileage, it is VERY likely to need a new battery, if the present owner hasn't done that already.

Then......have you ridden a Spyder yet ??
The dynamics are ENTIRELY different than a 2 wheel motorcycle.
Because of that, doing a long ride as your "test drive" might not really be a good idea.

I also still ride 2 wheels, a 2007 suzuki sv650, its light 350 lbs., however , comfort on long rides is not there, I purchased my Spyder for relief from an old injury, now I enjoy it more than ever , as Easyrider said its different and takes practice.
