Purchase extended warranty??

Hi there. I have started the process to buy my new 2018 Spyder RT Ltd! Our dealer recommends buying the B.E.S.T. Extended warranty. My question - does it make sense to buy the extended warranty. If so why buy it now versus wait until the 2 year factory warranty is about to end and then buy the additional 3 year? Is the coverage different? Is the cost different?

Absolutely get the extended warranty for this machine. Very few service centers around the country know how to service and repair these complicated machines. It ain't no Harley.

Having an extended warranty won't change that situation.

Ask the dealer about the cost if you wait two years.
Typically, the cost is higher.

P.S. I usually do NOT recommend paying for an extended warranty on ANYTHING, because the odds are that you will never get your investment back in service.
BUT the Spyders are a bit different and some repairs are fairly common and some are very costly.

I have one on mine.
It is a little over a year old and is in the shop now for a failed "cam position sensor".

Thank you all. Hope to finalize my purchase this week. I am leaning to buy the extended warranty now. I hate the idea of doing this but I think with the amount of technology, electronics and the new digital display - I will have some peace of mind with the warranty. The serial # of the unit I am working towards has a low # which tells me it may be an early 2018 manufactured bike.

I have read thru many of the threads in this forum. Very informative. Learned of some potential issues to watch for. Thanks. Excited to get a can am!

I am REALLY happy I got a 2017.

I find the "digital dashboard" completely unacceptable on the new models.

Have you considered shopping around for a new or lightly used '17 model ??

I think I would look for a 2016 or 2017 model, much cheaper and bugs worked out.
