Shifting problem

greetings from Wyoming
We have a 2012 CanAm Spyder rss
The shifting worked fine until a few days ago.

It stopped shifting properly and check transmission went across the display.
Checked for codes and did not show any codes, nor did it show anything that it was going into code reading mode.
Has anyone had this problem?

Manual or automatic transmission ?

Exactly HOW does it not work ??

Unless a mechanical linkage has come loose, you probably need a shop visit.

Shifting problems

I have a problems down shifting. I have to wait till I get to a lower speed and have my spyder down shit by it self. Its a 2018 RT Limited less than 1000 miles. Anyone have this problem and if so how do I fix it.

This is covered under warranty. Take it to the dealer and have them fix it.

Lots of 2018's are having this problem. Defective control units on the handlebar.

True. But it depends on what RPM he is trying to downshift at.

The "nanny" will prevent you from downshifting if your engine speed is too fast.

But it likely is the switch on the handlebar. That should present a problem shifting into reverse too.

I am having the same problem on my 2018 spyder rt. Dealer keeps thinking it's dirty oil but the oil has been changed. The problem is especially evident when the ambient temperature is low (below 60 degrees). After the ambient temperature warms up I can down shift and go into reverse but with extra effort on the paddle shifter and sometimes after two or three attempts on the paddle shifter. I think you are right about it being the switch itself. Will take it back to the dealer.

There is a service bulletin about this.
You should INSIST that the shop look until they find it.

Sometimes the replacement part is slow to arrive.
Maybe a month or more.
