New Ryder from Illinois (Joliet area)

Purchased a 2012 RT SE5 in April and will soon be parting ways with my Goldwing. 20+ years of riding 2 wheels, so un-learning some 2 wheel habits is a challenge

Stick with it. Patience is required.
I am "un-learning" about 50 years of 2 wheel habits.
It has taken me several months and several THOUSAND miles to get comfortable.

I am a "fugitive" from Illinois.

Welcome
newbie here myself but about 6000 mi. on my '17 F3.
It takes a while for sure. Grabbed for the front brake for a long time. Now I don't even think about it.
The Spyder may feel darty at first and you'll feel bump steer till you learn to relax your grip. Don't over-think riding it. Take your time.
Once you fell comfortable you'll find any excuse to go somewhere.

One Year Spyder Rider ( NO REGRETS)

Have rode 2 wheels for 55 yrs., never rode a snow mobile, dealer said if I rode a snow mobile I could adjust quickly, took about 3 to 4 months to get confidence and ride a 4 lane hwy at 60 mph. Originally went to spyder because of a knee injury
I rode a 82 Goldwing which became hard on knee, my wife said that if I want to keep my face in the wind I will have to find an alternative. I chose spyder over a trike because it is more stable on the road and really comfortable never mind that its a lot of more fun to ride. I enjoy riding a light weight sport bike also, but comfort goes to the Spyder. Restore and repair vintage bikes.
