Temp gauge pegged on high

I have a 2012 Spyder. I installed a usb charge port ,when I put the dash back together the temp gauge is pegged on high temp. Does anybody know how to get it to work properly?

My guess is that there is a wire loose on the gauge itself.
If you completely disconnect that round gauge, a temp display should show up on the "dashboard" display.

Where did you mount the new port ?
And where did you tap into the power for it ??

Hard to know what might be wrong without being there.
This is not a commonly reported problem.
