We just went through the same issue with our 2008 Spyder. BRP instructed us to repair the bike and then they’d discuss payment after we took possession again. This was the third DPS unit our bike has had and with less than 8000 miles on it, you’d think BRP would do something. Guess again, they said no recalls, warranty and they wouldn’t pay for it. After our dealer helped us out a little, it was a $1400 ordeal, $1700 before that. All three of the DPS units that were put on our bike were different part numbers. We contacted the BBB and they tried to help but still ended up eating the bill. Good luck with your situation, I wish you better luck than we had.
