I am looking to buy a new 2009 Can-Am ROADSTER or its also the SM-5 its going for 14K plus set up ect. Its new, but I also hear there is about 1000K valve adjustment needed at certain intervals.
What would be a fair price if I can get them to give me the pre-paid service plan for free?
Or is the service plan not even necessarily and yearly oil changes enough to get me 10K miles?
Thanks guys/gals I cant ride a 2 wheeler since I had a liver transplant a few months ago and its not comfortable.

IMO this is too high. I bought my '09 SE5 almost 2 years ago for less. There is a 600 mile first service which costs about $600. Oil changes are about every 3k and cost about $150. There is a valve adjustment but is may not be done, turns out it is not needed like they thought. It does NOT cost $1000 if it is done.
I have 14K and have not had any problems. I had a kidney transplant in '07. This past May I had both native kidneys and galbladder removed. I had 64 staples holding me together and was riding the Spyder two days after getting out of the hospital.

Congrats on doing so well after transplant! Its great to be made from 100% recycled parts!
Yeah I am going to see if they will do 13 plus tax and tag no set up, or 14 total plus a service package. That 600$ service would be needed in a week or two.
With my trade in it should cost me about 10. I'm trading in an 04 t100 triumph at 4k value . I did find a used one for less, but thought new is better.
THanks for the help and anyone else has an opinion or advice its always appreciated.
Good luck getting them to come down on the price and/or extras. Seems there's not a whole lot of that going on yet. Keep us updated, and good luck!!

THANKS! I'm going to print that out and bring it with, I did notice that 14k plus tax and tags is about average now, so I am hoping to get either a free full fairing and the first service (600 mile) free since that seems to e tpensive one and I will change my own oil.
I decided to go for it and sell my triumph on my own..I will miss her....
Now hopefully I wont be too scarred by the difference in the ride, funny how my hard core chopper and biker buds, love the Spyder but found them scary to ride!
The first few hundred miles are a learning curve, but give it that much before you decide yay or nay. Those of us who have are happy we did!
