Default spent a weekend on a RS

Just introducing myself.
I spent a weekend in a 3wheelclass
using a Spyder RT and later tried a
side car (which drove like a truck,
but flew the chair with an instructor in it).

Not sure what all I did with the Can Am
during class (couldn't see in back while driving).
I may have "killed a cone" but still passed.

I used to own a dirt bike, and want something
that will allow me to carry a lot of stuff,
go tour, and still have fun...

Most people think Can Am's aren't motorcycles
and there are some who think Virginia should
have a M3 license instead of just a M.

I think you can be an idiot on any number of wheels,
(or none).

Since Can Am is really the only 3 wheel with 2 up front,
I don't see laws changing until there is another company
doing a Y design and it is a class of vehicles instead of just
one manufacturer/ vendor/ brand, but I realize that view
is probably not very popular (even here)....

Welcome, 3WC! How did you enjoy your weekend riding? Where did you find that class? How much did it cost? Was it like a riding course where you spend part of the time in the classroom learning the basics and then part of the time on the practice field?

As far as a separate class of license, I don't see that it matters much. Personally I think having an M class license is plenty for riding the Spyder. Can't see the benefit of adding another class when M licenses cover everything you need to know to ride a Spyder.

It is always great to see a person get trained properly before going out on the road with a cycle or a three wheeler! Congrats!

The cycle and Spyder are similar accept for the brakes (which do take a little getting used to, but no worse than getting used to a scooters brakes, whose brakes are both on the handle bars like a bicycle), but in terms of driving one I think if you can drive a cycle, you can drive e Spyder, but I do not feel the other way around.

It blew my mind that in Arkansas all I had to do was take a ten question written test! They have since forced the various DMV test facilities perform the REQUIRED driving test.

Amen! What are your initial thoughts about the operation of the Spyder? Do you think that a Spyder will fit the bill for you?
Anyway; you've come to the right place, so enjoy the party!
