there is another site spyderlovers.com...has a section called enabled riders for us handicapped folks specifically. I have photos posted there of a hitch that Jimmy Mels of Mels Monster garage.com welded up for me. he's in roseville mi. It is basically the same design that spyder HQ came up with, bolting it to the swing arm.
there are expensive kits for putting on a slave to master brake cylinder set up for a hydralic hand brake...I didnt want to mess with it due to expense...I took a clutch handle from a yamaha (it was large enough to reach) turned it upside down and bolted it to the right handlebar. then had a clutch cable form my former bike, a honda shadow 1100...ran it down to the foot brake bracket and bolted it down for mechanical application. has worked fine for 7500 miles and 12 months.
there was enough room to put a throttle lock (cruise control) bolting it to the clutch (new brake) lever.
on spyderlovers.com in the enabled section there are several guys that have come up with different ways to carry a wheelchair. cruise around and see what might fit your situation.
welcome and good hunting
