Default belt tension

Does anyone know how to adjust the belt tension without having to buy the expensive meter the dealers use and,if so, what are the proper settings? I have a 2011 spyder se5.

Belt tension is a pretty important deal with these bikes... too much and you tear up bearings and front sprockets... Too little and disaster can rear its ugly head again!
I have heard of some folks using a "Krik-it" from NAPA (I think!) I'm not sure how much "tight" is right, but I'll see what I can find...
The dealers, I have been told, actually use some sort of "pitch gauge" it literallly twangs the belt and reads the sound... like tuning a guitar !

I just ordered the Krikit II / Gates 91132 belt tension gauge. The people with Spyders that use this say to set the tension between 160-180 as read on the gauge. Amazon has them available.
