Default Poor Service Poor CanAm response

I have been having a problem with my transmission for nearly 8 weeks. I have had my Spyder at three different dealers in the area to try and get it fixed. The first dealer said they couldn't get to it. The second waited 4 weeks for a lift before they looked at the rear wheel, claimed the first shop had done it wrong and that I would have to pay. It went back to the first shop, they redid the work, but refused to look at the transmission. So, off to the third shop. Where it has sat. They claim CanAm wants them to look at all the previous warranty work before they will look at the transmission because it is a big job. Regardless, my 2008 SE5 with 24000 miles has been non-operational for 8 weeks because it's too big a job? Anyone know how to light a fire under CanAm?

They really enjoy when you write to service at brp dot com. It's their dealer support email. Not supposed to be for customers... However, I wrote to it. BRP corporate called me in 2-3 days...followed by my local dealer calling like someone lit that fire you are looking for.

So what is wrong with the transmission I had a problem with mine where it would down shift 5th to 4th and I would lose throttle response and have no gears at all went to shop many times until they found out the ground wire was missing and the 1st shop said they installed it 2nd shop put in ground wire have had no problems since. P S they changed the clutch pack the shift sensors the paddle shifter etc until they found the $ 6.00 ground wire was missing they put almost $2000.00 into my bike.

Loud rattle whenever I let off the gas, louder the lower the gear. Check transmission light every down shift. Limp Home mode off and on. Probably not a ground wire.

I'm in Michigan and had no problem getting problem in my transmission fixed but no response from BRP. Its been 5 weeks. It cost me over a $1000.00. The service manager at my shop feel the original part was defective and that BRP should be doing something. I'm going to try going tp brp dot com. Wish me luck.

Shouldn't it have been covered by your warranty?

My Spyder is a 2008. Beleive it or not the extended warranty expired the day before the transmission broke; however, my service people think that BRP should be at lease reimbursing me for some of the expense.

Update: No word from Service at BRP dot COM. No word from Carlo as suggested on another site. 3rd dealer now says he is too busy and wants Can Am to send a tech to fix it. Crimeny! Jumping Jehosaphat! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

Maybe there's another reason other than just wanting to go faster that I traded my Spyder and why we own two Yamaha's David
