Need help with attaching gen 5 ipod nano

Hey all,
I'm a newbie with technology. I have an ipod nano gen 5 which is supposed to be compatible to hook up with the audio cable to use on the spyder St. I obviously need an adaptor cable, but which one? I have a 2013 ST. I have tried a lightning 8 plug, but doesn't seem to bring the system up in auxiliary mode. Can anyone help me?

It is part 710002676, the iPod adapter cable. It has a 32 pin iPod connector at the end, and you'll need a 32-pin to lightning adapter. People who have brought non-Apple adapters have had issues getting this to work, so I recommend that you get the real thing.
