Default longevity?

I am looking to buy an RTS Limited. I currently drive an 05 Goldwing. I know the longevity of a goldwing but haven't heard much for long term on the Spyders yet. Does anyone out there have 100,000 miles plus on there Spyder and if so what if any issues have you had with it other than normal maintenance such as brakes, tires and fluid changes. Thanks in advance for any input!

Welcome to the show Wiggley!
Two words: ROTAX POWER
The engine's gonna be good for certain.
I know some folks who have lots of miles but I myself am not qualified to address your concerns...

From what I've seen though; stuff starts to break when you start trying to add horsepower in large quantities...

I know of a rider who's got 128.000 miles on his GS though...

I am hoping to retire next July (2013). I hope to buy a new machine before retirement. I plan on taking a 8-10 week ride from Northern NY across the upper states into Alaska, down the west coast, across the southern and mid western states and back home.

I know someone with around 40k on their RT. I think with a good mechanic to properly maintain the spyders, they will last for a long time.
