Default New RT Owner in Az

new to forum...just bought 2011 RT-SM5...love it!! Unusual question.....hesitant to wash vehicle using hi pressure hose etc due to the elec components, etc...obviously rain will not damage the components but any thoughts or ideas on washing...Thank you !!

welcome to the nut house !!

don't use high pressure hoses or commercial washes

just use your normal hose at home

it only takes about 1.5 hrs to wash and fully detail the bike.. so what's better than being outside washing your funky new toy and haveing all the neighbours oooing and ahhing your bike

then going out and gettin it dirty again so you have to do it all over again


ahhhh the good life.. hehe

I've got to agree with Pal...
High pressure setups aren't good for the goodies...
A regular hose and a bit of elbow grease (and attention from the neighbors!) is all that you'll need.

Thanks for your advice!! Great riding weather in Az right now... seeing a few Spyders out in Scottsdale last weekend....growing in popularity for sure!!

Washing with soft water helps avoid water spots. I have an adapter that I connect my hose up to in the garage sink so I can use soft water.
