Since I'm new to the Spyder, I'll ask one of the ultimate dumb questions - how do you get the trip meters (A&B) to work? Nothing in the owners manual about how to operate them, just how to switch from miles to Kilometers. So far I have tried using logic and various approaches. Hit the mode button until trip meter shows, arrow up or down for function, e.g. pause, restore, erase etc. But when I erase the existing miles after a fill up and then arrow up to restore it apparently doesn't start counting again. I don't start over recording miles, it sits at 0. Or, sometimes it starts up all on its own miles down the road, so they are never, never accurate. I would like to rely on them for establishing range for each tank of fuel - but no go as it stands now. So, what am I missing? Something simple I suspect. Somebody set me straight. Thanks.
most trip meters just work. when you find the screen for them all one can do there is to set each one back to zero
I don't know of anything else you can do with them

I didn't either - done that - set them back to 0 and then they just stay there. What's up with that. That's what has me baffled. On my motorcycles you just hit "reset" and it clears the mileage and resets to 0. Maybe I'm overthinking this thing.
There's a pause / resume feature. They actually work backwards of what you would think. Try changing that feature the next time you use it and it will now start registering unless it's broke. When I first started using mine I had the same problem . Don't make sense on why they'd design something backwards but they did.
I had that little trick happen to me a couple of times also... Zero them and have them stay at ZERO!
What you're doing is zeroing them and then pausing them. Be careful with your button-pusing I hit the down button to zero, and then hit the right button to move from A to B. Hit down again and then tap mode to back back to the original screen. Hit anything else along the way...

On my 08 and 09 RS I change to the differnt trip meters (A B) with the mode button behind the clutch lever, or paddle shifter. when i want to reset to 0, i just hold that button for a few seconds and it resets to 0, whatever im displaying.
So, it seems, I'm not alone here. Thanks for the suggestions, I"ll give them a try. I know there has to be some method to the madness here. I did note that the top setting would switch to pause when I hit the down arrow to erase. Gotta be me then, cause you all have seemed to have solved the mystery. Let you know how it works. Maybe later today since it's raining right now so the next ride is delayed.
Just went out to the Spyder and checked the trip meters. A said 0 and B said 85. Actual mileage for the last trip was 89 based upon the odometer. Cycled through mode to trip meters, hit the down button that said erase, it did and when it did, it changed the upper setting to pause. Am I now paused? or should I hit the up button to change that back to resume? Or just leave it alone and cycle out of that screen using the mode button?
I am not sure but if you go to the Preferences screen. And change countries. it changes the trip meters to kilometers. for countries that use metric. So switch to UK and it will change the software preference to Kilometers. It will most likely change all functions to Kilometers. The software is structured to two functions, US standard, and Metric
