Default CB installed

I just had the CB installed on the bike and plugged my headset that I used on the Goldwing trike into the Spyder and thought the radio was bad or antenna wasn't hooked up right, well I learned that the headset is difference on the Canam and so I orded a new headset from Sierra Electonics.

I just thought I would mention this in case anyone else installs the CB, not a big deal but the dealer never mentioned this to me when they installed the CB or I would have bought the headset right then.

still in the learning curve from the Goldwing Trike to the Spyder but so far so good.

Your Spyder has seven pin and the GW has a six. You may be disappointed in your Spyder CB compared to your Wing...I am. Make sure your CB settings are correct...otherwise...

I don't have the static you speak of, however my transmitting distance is not very good and I think my BRP headset does not compare to my Chattebox headset I have on my GW FF helmet. I ride with the same bunch each Saturday and I sweep while the lead is normally a HD. I hear and transmit to him MUCH better when on my Wing. BRP needs to address this issue...

My dealer checked the SWR and it was 1.2 to 1 (very good) so I am learning to live with it....I don't like it, but I live with it.

A friend bought a 2010 RT and the dealer installed a CB...I can bearly understand him 500' feet from me. No static, but very distorted sound. Another problem is he wears a 3/4 helmet and his mic is out in the wind, so he transmits wind noise...all in all, his CB is useless.
