Default proper procedure for removing mirror

Can someone give me a bit more info on removing the mirror from the side panel than what is described in the owner's manual?
"Pull btm of mirror to release the locking tabs."
"Slideup mirror & remove from body."
Pull which way?How far which way?I doubt you don't have to pull very hard /or?
Any help will be much appreciated.(trying to be patient & not break anything)
thanks again

This might be one of the scariest moments in history for the first-timer... I still don't like this procedure, and still have trouble getting them re-mounted!
1. Put a supporting hand on top of the mirror that you're trying to not break... (SORRY!)
2. grasp the bottom of the mirror with you other hand and just kind of "rock" it outward... it'll pop loose.
(Don't try pulling the TOP outward!)
3.Once it separates, you then slide the mirror upwards to relase the top...
4. Collapse in a chair and take deep breaths!

It actually takes probably less than 3/4 of an inch worth of horizontal movement to loosen the bottom from its mooring position...
Re-install... place the top mounting"peg" into the top mounting hole on the mirror and push downward. Then you simply line up the other two pegs with their mounting holes in the mirror and push inward...
Good Luck and let us know how you make out!

Beauty
Makes a big difference when you know where to pull & how far.
Worked like a charm.I applied a small dabb of grease to the two lower pins & it went back together pretty good.(did it twice to make sure it wasn't a fluke the first time.)
Any other hints or tricks to removing panel etc. for oil changes?
Thanks for the info.

I am SO relieved that you weren't posting about putting together a posse to come find me!
Glad to be able to be useful!
