Justavet--the same thing happened to me. I got my RT-S 2 weeks ago, and after 40 miles I noticed the analog tach was either staying up at 6000 or below 1000; my digital tach seemed accurate based on the way the engine sounded and my own experience. Called the dealer, and they said it has happened on other Spyders too--that the metal needle in the analog tach got "heat-warped" and bent and so they ordered me a new console. I had it replaced on Friday, but be aware of your mileage when you bring it in because when they install the new console (20 minutes) everything goes back to zero. So I have to bring my RT-S in for the 600 mile service when my new odometer shows 300 miles...
