Cool RT issues

Has anyone else besides me had issues on the 2010's with the black paint flaking off the muffler, the front trunk not staying lined up & problems with the cruise? I hope I didn't get a bad one after waiting all these years to get my own bike.

Hi "TJ", You know something; the front trunk lid on mine DOES need to be adjusted... My cruise control does work okay and I'm gonna have to crawl under the bike this afternoon to check on the "tin can"... I wouldn't be surprised if that part does shed some paint after all of the heat cycles that it has to endure...
First bike?? So how are you liking the view from the saddle so far?

No paint problems that I've noticed, and the cruise works fine ... but that front trunk is way out of alignment. Still waterproof thanks to the generous gasket, but needs to be adjusted.

I am loving the freedom of riding my own..I think my husband is too..lol Have had that truck adjusted twice now & it still won't stay lined up so good luck on yours. My cruise is quirky likes to speed up & slow down by it's self. Have you seen the new recall dated Sept. 8th? If you haven't check it out. Oh the joys of owning something NEW to the market...lol

Is that the DPS unit issue? (September 8th) I've called my dealer and am #3 on the list for RT units...
I don't mind being a "Guinea Pig" for the manufacturers... I just wish that the pay was a bit better!

Welcome to our little slice of Heaven, FarmerJim! You've stumbled into just about the most perfect place on the Planet to ask pretty near anything you can dream up about these bikes!
TJ, I Brought it home from the dealer with the foglights in, and added the RTS accent LEDs at the first servicing... Now I've shoved some LED bulbs into the fender tip lights and screwed in a Shortee antenna... (Custom Dynamics) I keep looking at the mudflap LED conversion and the Brightsides front and rear, but if my Missus catches me...

Default re RT issues

I do like my RT but will never buy a new vehiclel again. I paid 25 grand for a vehical full of problems.
Within a week of purchase I took it back to the shop I bought it from with clutch & steering problems. The mechanic couldn't find anything wrong so I told them take it back or fix it. Apparently they forgot to keep current on recall issues. They called BRP & found out about the clutch recall. Their response to the steering problem was to over-pressurize the front tires ( I found this out on my own as they forgot to tell me). They did fix the clutch problem but broke the right mirror while taking it apart. The mechanic forgot to tell me this. I picked up the bike, after the mechanic supposedly did a test run & saw a blank spot where the mirror should be. Maybe the mechanic forgot to do a test drive too. The next time I took it in I spoke to the mechanic directly before he took it in. He supposedly went to school to learn to work on it. He apparently forgot how to start the bike, I had to show him.
I am taking it in Monday for the steering fix, replacement of the mirror, & replacing the left sided hinge assembly for the hard case.( It came broken . They forgot to order it & then ordered the wrong part.)
I really hope they don't forget anything else.

Wow! Are there any other dealers in your area? I'm pretty lucky to have 3 within an hour and a half of me, and wouldn't hesitate swapping them out if I suffered the way you have!
