Default 09 Spyder SE5 Brake squeaks.

I just want to know if it's common for the 09 Spyder to make squeaking sounds when you're applying the brakes? Before i thought about purchasing it, i tested it out on the road and the problem is every time i apply for the brake, it makes this loud squeaking sound. When i went back and talked to sales dealer, he said he had checked the BRP Can Am website and also with other dealership saying that the brake pads on the 09 models is not compatible with the braking systems? And even trying to replace the brake pads will still cause it to squeak? Guys is this true? Need a little help and advise here before i consider purchasing the Spyder...

It's pretty common for the rear brakes to sqauwk a bit when backing up... Are you looking at a used 2009, or is this a leftover model? Sometimes the brakes will put up a fuss if they've got some dirt or dust loaded up in the pads. A good brushing-out will help with that!
They also have Gen 3 pads that can significantly reduce all of the noise...

It is a USED 09 Model SE5. Its got 4500 miles on it and the sales manager told me that its actually the first and second generation of the pads...there's actually nothing wrong with them except it does cause some squeaking noises. There are new pads available now and it does reduce about 75% of its noise but obviously the dealership will not cover that. I think im just going to get used to the noise and ride it out but hopefully squeaking is the only problem...

My wife has a 09 SE5 and when we got it, it squeeled alot of the time when applying the brakes, it was so loud, it was embarasing to ride. The dealer replaces the pads and the squeeling has stopped.

If changing to the 3rd generation pads is not an option another poster named "Cozmos" suggested a product calld "disc brake quiet" for the pads.
