Default Erratic idle

My '09 SM5 seems to be a little erratic at idle, the rpms bounce around between 1300 & 1450.

The bike runs well and has plenty of power and I'm wondering if that variable idle is normal or should it sit rock solid at a certain rpm?

That's a perfectly normal range for the idle speed... Your bike is perfect!

I agree, the idle will bounce around. Mine varies from 1400 to 1450. The tachometers are actually digital and will help level out the display of small changes in idle speed.

There's a fellow in Tennessee who is making replacement plug wires that are of the highest quality. I'll get you all some more information.

Cool Rough Idle also

I have a 2008 RS SM5 (Lambo orange) that received its 600 mile service on the third of Dec. The idle was rock solid at 1400 until around 550 miles. Since then it has been moving from 1300 to 1450. I asked the mechanics and service techs during the 600 mile service and they said it was normal. I tend to believe that it may be the fitting. Could you post the information on the new cables. The ride is a gas.
I have to agree with some other posts, there does not seem to be many Spyders on the road even in southern Arizona. I have seen 4 in the past month.
