That's a perfectly normal range for the idle speed... Your bike is perfect!

I agree, the idle will bounce around. Mine varies from 1400 to 1450. The tachometers are actually digital and will help level out the display of small changes in idle speed.

I have a 2008 RS SM5 (Lambo orange) that received its 600 mile service on the third of Dec. The idle was rock solid at 1400 until around 550 miles. Since then it has been moving from 1300 to 1450. I asked the mechanics and service techs during the 600 mile service and they said it was normal. I tend to believe that it may be the fitting. Could you post the information on the new cables. The ride is a gas.
I have to agree with some other posts, there does not seem to be many Spyders on the road even in southern Arizona. I have seen 4 in the past month.
