Cargo gear

Has anyone purchased any of the Can-Am Touring cargo gear. Trying to figure out what the installation shelf is for a top rear cargo bag. I am guessing it holds the bag in the top rear lid, but please reply if you know the answer.

all of the bags came with mine..

the little shelf hold the bag in the trunk with room underneath it
