I posted this on spyderlovers.com also but thought I would do so here also. I went 137.5 miles and the low fuel light came on my 2011 spyder limited. I was just pulling into the gas station at this time. I filled up and and the tank held 4.42 gallons so that left roughly 2 gallons in the tank. I'm not one the push the gas issue but at least now I know. Happy Riding!
On my '11 RT Ltd is about the same, 4.5 -5 gallon fillup at the low fuel light. Mileage has gone up since I went to the smaller touring windshield though.

Hmmm, I must be missing something. I've run the fuel gage to botom of the red area..took almost 5 gallons. I never noticed a low fuel lite! The gage is scary, but I feel like I have 40-50 miles when the needle touches the red. I gonna go look for that light. The Zumo warns me at 125 miles.
I guess that I need to pull up my "Big Boy's" pants nad let it go a bit longer between fill-ups. The ost I've ever taken is 4.11 gallons... I've never seen the warning light!

Speaking from past experience, I ran mine bone dry at 160 miles, fuel light comes on with 1 bar left on the fuel gauge. The absolute most I've ever got in the bike is 5.75 gallons after adding a 24 ounce bottle of gas to get me to the fuel pump. My Spyder on average gets between 27-29 miles per gallon, I start looking for fuel when I reach 145 miles.

I take my RS in city driving only in Fort Lauderdale, FL. It goes to 1 bar pretty much every time around 70-80 miles and I ride it very smooth. I get mid 20's mpg. Each time I fill it up it's around 3.5-4.2 gallons filled. It is annoying having a few gallons remaining yet the light goes off.
My 2012 Scion XB does the same thing and it shows "0" miles in the range, while I can go an extra 50 miles before running out of gas because I have a few gallons left.
Weird. I was down to one bar the other day but no light ever came on. If I remember right, I think it took just over 4 gallons. Seems different bikes lights come on at different times. This was only my second fill since I've had the bike. I didn't wait as long on the first fill. I was hoping to see when the light would come on.
139.4 miles...4.2 galons. No light either! Only 33.1mpg, but I've been tinkering with my riding style to see how much my wrist can affect mileage...

Highway speeds seem to be a major factor on mileage. I have noticed that above 70 MPH, mileage takes a major hit on my RT. Probably has to do with the fuel map at that engine speed.
On my old Aprilia with the V990 Rotax, I got between 44 and 46 MPG running 75+. The Spyders have much more drag and weight making the engine work that much harder. The results being more fuel stops.
