You are correct, in that my Spyder brake light is activated by the pressure switch (brake switch banjo bolt) on the handle bar mounted, Brembo 19x20 master cylinder.
I disconnected the pigtail connector from the original master cylinder brake light switch, purchased a new one and wired the banjo bolt brake light pressure switch to the new pigtail, and plugged that into the system. Remember, me being paraplegic, I do NOT (cannot) use the foot operated brake, and subsequent foot activated brake light switch.
That said, the solution for you is very simple.
Bring the wires down from pressure switch, and simply cut and splice into the original wiring. The brake light is activated when the current thru the bulb finds a path to ground, so this path to ground can be EITHER the original foot operated switch, or the newly mount banjo bolt pressure switch.
Like your plan and am sorry for the defective master cyl. Hang in there I believe you are on the right track and that it will work.
Like dswihser plan also and am new to forums would like to know how to get in touch with him.
Am working on a Spyder now and moving brake pedal to the left side .
Thank You, TJMead
Just cruised the forum today, as I am not here much. Noticed your reply and thought I would get back to you.
Yes, bummer that my first Brembo had a leak..........but, it was replaced and I have about 10,000 miles on my Spyder. All good, never missed a beat and never had an issue, with the bike or any mods I did.
Dan is a great guy and I have called and emailed with him on several occasions.....hoping he may read this and contact you. You can send him a private email using this forum as well. (I'm not computor whiz, but know it can be done)
TJ, what special challenges do you have, that need a brake pedal on the left side? Makes more sense to go with a handle bar master cylinder.....just my thought.
Had to go to the door! I am working on Two Spyders for other people. I am trying to get these people a safe ride for a song and a dance. Works out to about $3.00 an hour. To answer your question on the foot brake over hand is the owner requested foot brake, and one requested hand brake. I liked your plan but had gave Dans, plan some time also. Any information you would like to share would be very nice and I do know Two people that would be happy.
Thank You TJMead

I spoke with Mosez (pronounced like Moses in the Bible) at D&M Southside Motorcycle Maintenance (in Cincinnati, OH) today and what Spyder Man is taking about is D&M fabricated a custom mechanical braking system that uses the existing foot pedal, but is actuated by hand. It is all mechanical, and the brake is located on the left or right side near the drivers knee.
D&M is in the process of applying for a patent, so no pictures yet.
I did a Bing Search, and this appears to be his shop location, Spyder Man, if this is incorrect, please let us know.
If you click on "Birds eye" you can see the building, pretty cool:
Hi Floto, I'm a t12 para as well. Looking at a Suzuki Burgman 650 with either a side car or trike kit, which would you recommend? Who makes the best kit or sidecar?
