Ghostwheel: Where did you get your spyder? In Arizona? If you could would you please itemize your purchase agreement? I will be shopping out of state since RideNow Powersports back-doored me with a 2K mark-up when I went to pick it up

Got it at the Ride Now on Bell.

It was there Demo and I picked it up for 16,000 plus tax and title.

How much were they cranking it up by?

The "RideNow" franchise is ridiculous. Non negotiable 15900 plus a mandatory 2500 premium. Of the 16 people on the demo week that started paperwork on a spyder, I am 1 of 4 that qualified for financing and the only one to push to sale...and I walked away! You don't need to go out of state, there are 4 NON-RideNow dealers in Arizona selling the spyder. Wish I had a dollar for every sale ridenow loses to Texas and New Mexico.

Look around before paying premium. There are plenty of dealers in both Phoenix and Tucson. You may be able to get a better price. I'd drive a couple of hundred miles to save $2-3 thousand dollars.

I have had experience with the Chandler Ride Now where they will not deal at all, just to have a sister ride Now store give me the deal that I wanted. Make them work to sell you the bike. Don't be afraid to get up a leave the store. In fact, I always get up and leave without buying the first day unless the deal is exceptional. Also, don't give them your drivers license until you have a good deal. They will hold on to it so you won't leave the store.

Also, watch out for the extras like prepaid service and oil changes. They can be mis-leading in the actual cost. You have to ride about 10k miles a year to break even on their prepaid offers.

If you're looking for other dealers where you'll be able to negotiate the price, you might have a bit of luck trying what i did. First I decided to look for a non-RideNow store to find someone who would deal. This was back in 2007, when they were putting huge premiums on top of the retail price.

Next, I looked up all of the dealers listed on the Can Am website and called them all and inquired if they were dealing or not. Most refused to give me a straight answer but about 40% of them were willing to talk with me... and about half of those even quoted an out the door price.

Be carefull to investigate how your state deals with sales tax so you don't end up paying extra on that.'

Next, I flew out to our neighboring state, CA and rode back with my brand new spyder that i'd saved almose $ 2,100 on after all travel expenses!

I still am riding my 2008 yellow spyder (# 249) and loving it!

Any questions, please let me know.

Steve
