Default brake light wiring

Hello Dave,

You are correct, in that my Spyder brake light is activated by the pressure switch (brake switch banjo bolt) on the handle bar mounted, Brembo 19x20 master cylinder.

I disconnected the pigtail connector from the original master cylinder brake light switch, purchased a new one and wired the banjo bolt brake light pressure switch to the new pigtail, and plugged that into the system. Remember, me being paraplegic, I do NOT (cannot) use the foot operated brake, and subsequent foot activated brake light switch.

That said, the solution for you is very simple.

Bring the wires down from pressure switch, and simply cut and splice into the original wiring. The brake light is activated when the current thru the bulb finds a path to ground, so this path to ground can be EITHER the original foot operated switch, or the newly mount banjo bolt pressure switch.

Hope this helps.
